The week has seen him alert consistently to highs, missing not a single one. I'm now paying close attention to him alerting Jason's lows as he presently appears to be slightly stronger alerting highs. Lows are the priority here and he will alert to the majority of them but is still missing some here and there. There are far fewer lows than highs so I want him to pick up on all of them. I have done several things to encourage him to stay on top of the lows. For starters, I have changed the treat given for a low reward to something that he considers of more high value and that he hasn't had before. This treat is only used for low alerts and he is much more enthusiastic about it than what I was giving him before. Also, if Jason says he's low and Bailey hasn't alerted, I will test Jason without Bailey knowing if possible and if he is low, make sure Jason is positioned next to Bailey without offering any prompts and wait and watch closely. We did this the other night and it was interesting to see how Bailey reacted. He started by sniffing Jason's mouth intently, then he locked his eyes on me and paused...you could see him thinking it through...then he got up, came over to me and gave the alert chain. Everyone gave him lots of praise and treats to reward the alert.
